The Click in the Favela Project was born in Paraisópolis, from a group of young people who decided to share their photography knowledge with residents from peripheral areas, who do not have the opportunity or money to take photography courses available in the market, as they are expensive.

"So, we decided to create this project to bring together and inspire young people, not only to follow in the field of photography but also to show new horizons to them," says Daniel Eduardo, founder of the project.

Usually, the information in the outskirts comes very late or sometimes does not arrive at all, and when it does come, it is shaped as impossible.
Just as the collective had the opportunity to know photography, they thought of bringing opportunities to young people from peripheral areas. Showing how the community really is. And only those who live inside one know. Without feeding the stereotype that everyone knows when mentioning the word “Favela.”

Moreover, it is very clear how much this changes and saves lives, helping to create new possibilities for young people. During 2019, the Click in the Favela Project was supported by the VAI Program from the Department of Culture, with support from AIX, Coletivo Cinz´Art, Escola do Povo, and Union of Residents and Commerce of Paraisópolis.
