Cosmopolitan Boys Sunday Snippets #018
Maybe I need to take 'Sunday' out of the newsletter name and just leave it as Snippets; it has been difficult to write on Sundays lately, whether due to work or personal life - this time it was because of a hangover from the 10-year party of Notthesamo.
There isn't a category “Where I've Been” here (and it wouldn't be a bad idea to add it), but I couldn't skip talking about my first visit to Sesc Pompeia. I've wanted to visit it for some time now, and for some reason, I remembered that on Saturday morning and went out to stroll and have lunch there. One of the coolest places I've ever visited in my life. I think my life goal is to create something similar to Sesc, which by the way is the coolest institution in Brazil. Now my goal is to visit them all.
WHAT I AM READING
I've talked about this book here before, but I had set it aside for a while and started reading it again this week. The most underrated book on creativity; I've never seen anyone talking about it, but it's really good and it's a shame it doesn't have a Portuguese translation yet.
Magazines
I have some ongoing projects that have required a lot of creativity, and sometimes I can't find the answers. And no matter what you need, the answers are always in old magazines. I have a small physical collection that's been growing over time and a digital collection from many pirate sites (including all the Playboys since the first issue; the best advertising references are there). I recently discovered that on the Thrasher website there is a section just for archives with all the digitized issues. And this here is the Brazilian company that imports and distributes most of the foreign magazines in São Paulo. Be happy
WHAT I AM LISTENING TO
I randomly heard a song from this album that intrigued me, so I listened to the whole album. It’s absurdly good. A mix of samba, bossa nova, jazz, and several other things. Now I will need to listen to everything Oscar Milito has recorded in his life. I even found out that he passed away less than a month ago, rest in peace, legend.
I didn't know Joony, but I’m a fan of Jordan Ward, and this is a very well done collaborative EP with a great vibe; it's perfect for repeat for hours.
Laila has blown up some songs through TikTok recently (you've definitely heard the funk remix of ‘not my problem’), which led me to her debut album, which is very good, good concept, nice intro, good interludes, nice vocals, and good songs.

Seu Jorge - I Was Right DRIFT Remix
Seu Jorge's clip from 2004 featuring William Dafoe and Bill Murray. Filmed on film, in Rome. I don't need to say anything else.
