‘Craft is our language': Bottega Veneta celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic intrecciato
Photographed by Jack Davison and choreographed by Lenio Kaklea, the creative proposal exalts craftsmanship as a universal language, translated in manual gestures and the connection between cultures and generations.
More than a technique, the Intrecciato symbolizes interconnectivity, collaboration, and heritage. Introduced in 1975, it expresses the founding pillars of the house — craftsmanship and creativity — through a meticulous work of strips of leather, in a process that requires not only time but also skill and imagination. The campaign brings together artisans from Bottega Veneta alongside prominent names from the arts, cinema, music, and fashion, such as Lauren Hutton, Zadie Smith, Julianne Moore, Dave Free, and Tyler, The Creator.
In celebrating this moment, the brand highlights not only the celebration of the intrecciato but also reflects its Italian roots and pays homage to the artist Bruno Munari, through his work ‘Supplemento al Dizionario Italiano’. The proposal also unfolds into a book scheduled for September, which will gather 50 gestures in a visual dictionary, showcasing the craft and values of the brand.
