equip and the Minimalism of SIDES CORE
Sohei Arao, founder of SIDES CORE, designed a minimalistic and admirable hair salon.
Sohei created SIDES CORE in 2005 and has since been nominated for various awards for his work in product design, interiors, and architecture.
In the equip, the designer states that his intention was to convey a simple and "raw" experience for the salon's clientele, providing something unique.
Located in a quiet neighborhood in Japan, the equip features a spacious atmosphere, with a high ceiling and clean decor, having only a single spot for haircuts, integrated by a large round mirror and a white chair. On the other side, there is an easily adaptable wooden panel, matching the frames and beams of the place and contrasting with the floor and columns in techno-cement.
The Salon also includes a sound system and delicate touches of yellow in the decor, present in a chair and the chandelier.
