"Maenads": Evoé presents its second collection inspired by followers of the Greek god.

The paulista Evoé presents its second collection, entitled "Ménades", a name given to the female worshippers of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and worldly pleasures.

Evoé is a streetwear brand based in São Paulo, which brings in its core an urban female perspective, meaning that the brand relates to the lifestyle of contemporary women, not referring to gender itself, but to its peculiarities and expressions.

For the second drop, the brand brought the figure of the "ménades" - also the name of the collection - to illustrate the wild, primitive, and violent behavior in the cults of Dionysus.

The ménades were empowered women who instilled a certain fear and attraction in men wherever they went; it was something like a fetish and desire for these uninhibited and powerful women, who when disturbed would not hold back in unleashing their rage. Everything about them revolved around a dark instinctive nature that reflected indulgence; they liked to subject men to suffering and consume them while engaging.

The collection portrays the life cycle of the ménades, who, being women and living freely, offered to the abundance of their desires and cruelty, ended up being prevented from dying in peace, being transformed into oaks to be silenced forever. Censorship and silence connect and reflect a critique from the brand about machismo, which still prevails around the life of women who dare to challenge it or allow themselves to be more than what is destined for them by their gender condition, as the ménades did. Therefore, the brand brings the critique, reflection, and analogy with the ménades for modern times when women have become empowered, owners of themselves, and have begun to demand respect and occupy the places they desire.

The items that make up the collection are: t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, polo shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, pants, jackets, and bags, these featuring leopard prints, which reference the wild side of these women.

The "Ménades" will be available starting July 26 on the website of Evoé.
