Nike and Corinthians release a purple shirt inspired by women who never stop believing
Respecting women is more than an obligation: it is action. At Corinthians, they make up 53% of the fanbase (Source: IBOPE Repucom). They bring to the stands the pride of believing in themselves. The courage, the determination. To celebrate the launch of the club's third jersey – inspired by the women who never stop believing – Nike and Sport Club Corinthians Paulista present the first uniform inspired by Corinthian women.
“Women's football is a fundamental part of Corinthians' sport. Our team is made up of professionals of the highest technical level, who bring to each play and each goal the Corinthian DNA of always fighting and never ceasing to believe. It is a great pride for us to be pioneers in Brazil by debuting an official jersey with the women's team,” says Duilio Monteiro Alves, president of Corinthians.
The jersey is predominantly purple, a color that has represented various feminist movements throughout history, as a tribute to all the Corinthian women who fight for the club and their space in football. Black details complement the design, and gold has been chosen for the club's crest and the swoosh (Nike's logo) that appear on the front of the jersey.
