Nike and VariosCorre invite creative young people to the Brazilian Team

The culture of football team shirts has long been strong in Brazil and is part of the clothing and daily life of people, marking urban culture within our society. To celebrate the identity of Brazilian communities, the creative collective VariosCorre, in partnership with Nike and engaged youth from the outskirts of São Paulo, showcases authentic Brazilian style with the new white jersey of the national team.

Photographed in Capão Redondo, a neighborhood in the south zone of SP, the editorial recalls the heritage of 1919, a time when Brazil won and hosted the Copa América for the first time in history. The title is the great inspiration for the O TEAM BRASILEIRO collection, which recovers the white used during that period. The style of the time is revisited through tailored pieces, blended with high-tech sportswear to create a contemporary and casual look based on the Brazilian lifestyle, culminating in the perfect intersection of fashion, football, and urban culture.

VariosCorre is a collective formed by creative young Brazilian women who seek to innovate the way advertising is done through true stories. When they were thinking of forming the group, Amanda Adasz, Elisa Gijsen (Moa), and Rafaela Andriolli began mapping people and showcasing their work through Instagram. Based on the reality of people living in the outskirts, with different opportunities, access, and privileges, the proposal of VariosCorre is to bring together individuals who do a lot with little and expose their talents and work. “Although the collective is made up of women, it is not exclusively female; it is a collective of artists,” they declare.

The cast chosen for the photos includes stylists, rappers, dancers, psychologists, historians, and piano teachers. A representation full of self-esteem and creativity, composed of young people who look at their communities with pride. The story features a group of friends who come together to play football on a Sunday afternoon, a reality for many people that reignites the passion and sports legacy lived and presented to us by our parents and grandparents.

The Brazilian National Team takes the field with the commemorative white uniform in the opening match of the Copa América (14.06) against Bolivia at Morumbi Stadium.

The complete collection is already on sale at Nike's largest store, nike.com, and throughout the rest of the market.
