Nike and Virgil Abloh launch the collection "Athlete In Progress"
Inspired by women's athletics, Virgil Abloh had the idea to develop a collection designed for women in collaboration with Nike.
“Athlete In Progress” consists of a set of a top and running pants and the Zoom Nike x Off-White Terra Kiger 5. The designer explored the brand's rich heritage in athletics and balanced the selection of pieces with performance products and the design of Nike's apparel and sneakers.

The collaboration celebrates female runners who gained their confidence from the performances of the first women's marathon in 1984 and who continue to break barriers through ongoing efforts, striving to break personal or world records.

"I started talking to Nike about this women's project last summer and at the time, I was very inspired by the aesthetic and style of track athletes. As a result, I invited some of Nike's elite champions to participate in my Off-White SS19 show as a natural precursor to developing and showcasing the collection," says Abloh.

The “Athlete in Progress” collection premiered in Paris in September 2018 as part of the Off-White Summer 2019 show, featuring athletes such as Dina Asher Smith, Vashti Cunningham, Cecilia Yeung, Gardner Ingles, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Nafi Thiam, Caterine Ibarguen, and Rénelle Lamote.
Now, with the 800-meter champion Caster Semenya, the collection is preparing for the launch of the first capsule in Brazil, which will be available starting November 14 at nike.com and in physical stores Cartel 011 and Guadalupe.
