Little by little, national streetwear is gaining strength, where new brands emerge seeking their own identities and bringing unprecedented influences into their collections. Amid this evolution, OLDMASTERS debuted its first line 5 years ago and resurfaces in 2016 with a winter collection.
Founded by two friends with common tastes, Fred Russo and Bruno Zilzke, OLDMASTERS presents strong influences from sports and music. Fred spent part of his life living abroad, which broadened the founders' perception of streetwear and the general scene. The first collection of OLDMASTERS, launched in 2011, had its premiere split between Brazil and the United States, with production done there.
After a few years away from the market, the brand's new collection shows a maturation of ideas, exhibiting an essential color palette, with black, white, and shades of gray in prints and fabrics.
The inspiration from basketball appears in the Home Game t-shirt and in the Drop a Dime shorts, which also feature side cuts and the logo "O".
The sweatshirt OMKC carries the motto Keeping it Classic, made from black fabric with a gray print, while The "O" showcases the brand name printed on the back.
One of the highlights of the collection is the Luchini t-shirt, inspired by the group Camp Lo, formed in '95 by rappers Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede. Camp Lo brought influences from jazz and funk, as well as traits from the cinematic movement Blaxploitation of the 70s. The t-shirt features a scene from the music video of the song Luchini (also known as This is It), where the rappers run masked through the city until they reach a van.

Together with the collection, OLDMASTERS also launched a playlist titled Homecoming, featuring songs that influenced the creative process of the products in different ways. Among the songs in the set are Joey Bada$$, Bobby Shmurda, James Ventura, and Rodrigo Ogi, among others.
