Pedro Andrade designs uniforms for the teams of three countries for the Olympics

During this month of May, it was clear to see various movements in sports, both national and international. Recently, the brand Cariúma had the pleasure of announcing its collaboration with three Olympic Skateboarding Federations to create ultra-sustainable uniforms for the Paris 2024 Games.

The skate teams from Portugal, the Netherlands, and Slovakia will wear exclusive uniforms representing their respective countries, and they also contributed to a campaign focused on reforestation - with a tree being planted for each piece sold. We also focused on São Paulo's creative director Pedro Andrade, founder of one of the most well-known streetwear brands in Brazil: Piet.

All execution of the project was in his hands. Pedro designed the uniforms aiming to convey the cultural essence of each federation; considering their sustainability standards and drawing inspiration from football shirts of the 90s and 2000s, seeking to show with each of these decades their singularities, unity, and evoke a nostalgic feeling.

Pedro also sought to emphasize that the uniforms were designed in an oversized style, with the intent of promoting greater comfort, versatility, and a unique aesthetic. The countries requested an aesthetic base from him: the Netherlands presented stronger patterns and more retro collars, while Slovakia preferred a more sober and minimalist approach, with a crew neck and a drier fit, based on the 98 World Cup; on the other hand, Portugal clung to a very aggressive look, with prints and colors reminiscent of the 94 World Cup.

Portugal was the country that produced the uniforms made with sustainable materials, recycled fabrics, and organic cotton, aiming to significantly reduce carbon emissions, reaffirming the sustainability values that Cariúma holds in its work method. Pedro, from these ideas, brought a unique and innovative vision that reflects both sustainability and the cultural heritage of each country.

We highlight from this partnership of Pedro a fundamental foundation for this relationship to have resulted in the success of this action - the promotion of the global sustainable cause, which through aspects he carries with him has become a visionary and creative instrument based on Cariúma's sustainable ideals and the environment.
