Piet will launch a new collection inspired by the surfwear culture of the 90s.
Inspired by the popularization of surfwear in the 90s and its mix with funk culture, the brand announces a new collection named "Surfing Drums". The pieces are a reinterpretation of the union of surfing with the outskirts of São Paulo, resulting in a unique Brazilian aesthetic. The collection is one of the largest from Piet, with a total of 51 pieces.
For the campaign, the story told is about a surf punk band that goes to the coast after a show. The pieces, which range from shorts, pants, graphic t-shirts to caps, beanies, two mules, jackets, and hoodies, bring references from that time, with symbols, color combinations, and graphics.
Pedro draws inspiration from the fusion of Surfwear with the outskirts of São Paulo, creating a unique aesthetic that crossed paths with funk culture. This unusual mashup of surfwear, Brazil, and funk was the foundation of Brazilian streetwear culture.
"Surfing Drums" launches tomorrow (21) at 5 PM on Piet's e-commerce platform and at official retailers.
