The May issue of the architecture magazine, Architectural Digest, featured Drake and his new home in his hometown, valued at 100 million dollars (about 520 million reais). The mansion was designed by the rapper and interior designer Ferris Rafauli.

“Since I built in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel. It will be one of the things I leave behind, so it had to be timeless and strong,” said Drake about the project.

The Toronto mansion has 46,000 square meters and boasts a lot of marble, copper, gold, and other exotic materials. Drake took over two years to build his new home, which was completed at the end of 2019.

“It’s overwhelming high luxury. This message is delivered through the size of the rooms and the materials and details of the floors and ceilings. I wanted to ensure that people could see the work I developed over the years reflected in all viewpoints,” Drake explains.

Drake is a huge basketball fan, and one of the rooms in his house is none other than a full-size NBA basketball court. The court showcases the musician's passion for the sport. Last year, his favorite team, the Toronto Raptors, was the season champion.
