First woman to sign a model for Converse
Alexis Sablone is a skateboarder, an architect graduated from MIT, a multi-artist, and a creative individual. She is 36 years old and has been skateboarding since she was 10, becoming a pro since 2016. In 2019, she joined the Converse CONS team and has previously designed some colorways.
However, the AS-1 PRO is her first pro model, inspired by 80s basketball shoes and 90s skate shoes. With a classic design, it features a cupsole designed to enhance boardfeel and comfort, and also includes impact cushioning and optimized grip on the grip tape.
The launch took place at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, reinforcing the relationship between architecture and art with Alexis's career. The first color, in leather white and green, has already been released. The other two colors, in black and white; and beige and burgundy, will be launched on the website on June 2.
In Brazil, the first model is already available on the Converse ecommerce and at partner skate shops. The other 2 models will launch on June 2, also on the website.
