SpeedfreakS will have a documentary in 2020
The rapper, producer, and "badass bassist" Cláudio Márcio de Souza Santos, aka Speed, besides being recognized for his solo work such as the iconic national rap album Expresso recorded in São Paulo in 2001, is also known for his works with the group SpeedfreakS, formed by him, Black Alien, and DJ Rodriguez in the early '90s. At that time, the largest concentration of the audience and artists of the genre was still in São Paulo, where the recurring theme addressed in the lyrics was the social condition of the favelas, the abusive action by the police. Thus emerged a group of carioca MCs injecting reggae, ragga, funk, soul, and electronic music using Rap as a guiding thread.

Much less stiff than the São Paulo sound, they spoke about drugs, nightlife, spiritualism, while also making social critiques, which generated a huge “boom” among various followers of Hip-Hop Culture.
Speed is also remembered for being part of the Hemp Family nickname of the friends and artists linked to the Planet Hemp group, where the rapper contributed as a bassist on several occasions.
He was one of the pioneers of Rap in Brazil and paved the way for the new school as he used to say; today we have several renowned artists playing on the biggest playlists across Brazil, including Black Alien, who formed a duo with the rapper, also part of that huge list who learned from or could share Speed's wisdom and vision.

One of the people responsible for the book released last year I Am This Way, I Am Speed, filmmaker Rafael Porto, is preparing to release this year a documentary about the life and work of the MC from Niterói who tragically passed away in 2010 but left a great legacy.
The film will feature more exclusive material from Speed, such as interviews, studio sessions, shows, and unseen content from the artist's collection.
