Vans Pro Skate Park Series arrives for the first time in Brazil
After the surreal event that was the House of Vans in São Paulo, Vans brings to Brazil the first world championship of Skate Bowl.
The Vans Pro Skate Park Series started in Melbourne, Australia, and arrives on national soil through the city of Florianópolis for the semifinals. Among those invited are Brazilian Pedro Barros, and Californians Chris Russell and Rowan Zorilla, among others.
The event will take place on June 10 and 11, on the Island of Magic, bringing the largest prize ever seen in a skate championship in Brazil: US$75,000 (about 270,000 reais). The event on the 11th will be broadcast live via Vans Park Series.
The event is free and takes place from Friday to Saturday at the coastal track of Pirajubae, in Floripa.

Friday
10:30 - 15:00 - Qualifiers - Jam Session organized with heats of five skateboarders. Each skateboarder has 4 runs with a maximum of 30 seconds per skateboarder. The top 5 skateboarders will go to the semifinals.
15:00 - 17:00 - Warm-up for semifinal skateboarders
Saturday
10:30 - Warm-up for semifinalists
12:00 - Semifinal -
20 skateboarders. Five skateboarders from the qualifiers meet the 15 invited skateboarders. There will always be 20 skateboarders in the final.
2 alternates will be allowed in the warm-up.
The heats will consist of 5 skateboarders, and each will have 4 runs of a maximum of 45 seconds. Only the best run counts.
The top 8 advance to the final.
14:00 - Final
4 runs for each skateboarder
Maximum of 45 seconds or until they fall.
Error on the first trick gives the right to a redo, only once. The timer will be reset.
Only the best run will be validated
15:00 - Best Trick followed by the award presentation.
