Involved directly in various fields of artistic action, Vans is holding a customization project in public and private schools in Brazil for the fourth time.
The Vans Custom Culture is a contest that encourages high school students from all over Brazil to express themselves creatively through graphic and urban arts, using the classic white canvas sneakers from the Californian brand as a platform.

Each registered school will receive three pairs of white sneakers in the models Sk8-Hi, Authentic, and Slip-On, to be customized according to the creative expression of the students, addressing themes of action sports, art, music, and local culture. The ten best works will be selected by the public through online voting, where only three will go to the finals and be chosen by a jury from Vans.

“Whether through sports, music, or art, Vans has always supported creative expression throughout its history, and consequently impacted youth culture over the last 50 years. In addition to acting as a facilitator in the search for new talents, the program also serves to raise awareness about the importance of art as a transformative agent” - Paulo Costa, Marketing at Vans.

It is expected that 250 high schools, both private and public, will participate in the project in 2016. Registrations can be made between July 18 and August 17 by a legal representative of the school, through the website www.vans.com.br/customculture.
The award event and selection of winners will take place on November 19. The champion institution will receive a prize of R$10,000 in art materials, in addition to R$2,000 in Vans products. The second and third place winners will receive a prize of R$4,000 in artistic materials and R$1,500 in Vans products, and R$3,000 in art materials and R$1,000 in Vans products, respectively.
