Vert x Rick Owens: the collaboration has a global release.
The Vert x Rick Owens partnership, first showcased at the designer's Fall/Winter 2019 show, finally arrives on the market.
About two years ago, Rick Owens reached out to the Vert team in Paris to suggest a collaboration. Owens' intention was to promote the idea of a more sustainable future. But this would only make sense in partnership with a brand that had enough mastery to discuss the subject.
I have absolutely no authority to promote sustainability, but I endorse the idea of thinking and planning a future with kindness in mind. We all have to start somewhere.
Rick Owens

For Vert, the partnership was an opportunity to work alongside an inspiring mind from a universe that, at first glance, seems to be completely contrasting with that of the brand. On the other hand, both converge in the thought of going beyond trends and seeking new creations and technical innovations.

The sneaker was designed by both design teams, where the new technology from the Vert Running project was implemented. The sole is made 45% from bio-based materials, composed of banana oil, sugarcane, and rice husks, complemented with L-FOAM, a material developed by the Vert team from native Amazon latex and EVA.

The upper is made from 3D mesh (made from recycled plastic bottles), seamless, soft, and breathable. The shoe design brings a new sporty and minimalist silhouette to the brand.
The Vert x Rick Owens collaboration is now available for purchase on the brand's Parisian website.
