WO launches "REAL WOMEN," an editorial inspired by the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow

To develop a new reinterpretation of the iconic Air Force 1, Nike gathered a group of female collaborators ranging from superstars and elite athletes to unknown everyday heroines. Therefore, the new Air Force 1 Shadow is a tribute to the women who set an example for the next generation and are forces of change in their respective communities.

Inspired by the story behind the sneaker and all the women who express their strengths, leadership, and experiences as a way to forge a close representation with other women, WO took to the streets of Belo Horizonte to capture the lives of those who make a difference in their communities.

The result can be seen in the editorial titled “Real Women”, which highlights three simultaneous realities of Brazilian women with their routines and stories of overcoming challenges. They redefine the meaning of being a woman, as their daily strengths, achievements, and leadership are a testament to this.

Luana is a jazz dancer and teaches children. She is an example of strength and perseverance for achieving the most beautiful steps, whether inside or outside the studio. Elaine is a sales manager, mother, wife, and busy individual. Her daily work routine is a reference of independence and strength for her daughters and the girls in her community. Marina is an entrepreneur and faces exhausting routines in high heels to gain the necessary credibility to be the empowered woman she is.

The editorial is composed of video and photos that showcase the sneaker as a symbol of empowerment, authenticity, and expression. In order to amplify what represents feminine strength, the Air Force 1 Shadow is presented with the swoosh (the brand logo) duplicated; twice as high; and twice as authentic. All models of the Air Force 1 Shadow are already available at nike.com.br and in the main stores across the country.
