Lacoste reveals collaboration with the works of artist Keith Haring
The French brand Lacoste, globally known for its iconic logo, the green crocodile, and its classic polo shirts, recently announced a collaboration with Keith Haring, the legendary pop artist who grew up surrounded by New York's street culture.
Keith Haring gained visibility through his graffiti and drawings made in the subways of New York City. After gaining recognition, the artist began painting colorful murals, creating a very distinctive visual language style. In his works, Haring tried to reflect the political and social reality of the time, thus themes like homosexuality and AIDS became recurring in his work. Before his death on February 16, 1990, due to complications related to AIDS, the artist created the Keith Haring Foundation to continue his charitable support to organizations associated with children and AIDS.
Lacoste seeks to pay tribute to the life and work of Keith Haring in this collaboration through t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets featuring the artist's graphic work. The brand chose to maintain neutral colors in the pieces, such as gray, white, and shades of blue to contrast with the yellow, green, pink, and red present in Haring's art.
The Keith Haring x Lacoste collection will be available in sizes for men, women, and children starting March 27 on the Lacoste website and in selected brand stores.
