Negast presents an exhibition on Black and peripheral youth
Born in 1984, in the far south of São Paulo city, Negast began his relationship with visual arts in 1997, motivated by tagging, which later gave way to the universe of graffiti and its possibilities.
Over time, he developed his technique and began to dedicate himself to painting on canvas, but without leaving the streets behind. The artist, who also dedicates himself to the development of illustrations driven by his training in graphic design, will bring to the Galeria Alma da Rua 2, in São Paulo, all the evolution and way of thinking about his Black identity starting on April 15th.
His source of inspiration for creating art is based on the Black population and its aesthetics. His gaze is particularly immersed in the colors, textures, and marks that are part of the universe of Black and peripheral youth in Brazil and the world.
