Rider reaffirms its commitment to sustainability with the Rider R4 collection.
Continuing your journey towards sustainability, Rider launches the Rider R4 collection, with 4 new models that, in addition to comfort and modern design, stand out for their lower environmental impact in their components and manufacturing, reinforcing the brand's concern with sustainability issues. Grendene has carried out various actions to reduce its carbon emissions, producing footwear that is easier to disassemble after use, with fewer components and a greater concentration of pre-consumed recycled material – that is, utilizing waste materials that would be discarded in a common production process.
The flagship of the collection, the Rider R4 Space Slide, uses biobased EVA, a material that comes from sugarcane and is renewable due to its plant origin. In addition to the main model, the collection includes the R4 II, a flip-flop with a gradient paint, the R4 Plus Slide, with a holographic label, and the Free R4 Papete, all made with Grendene's organic technology material.

The Rider R4 Program, launched in 2020, initiated a new concept for the brand, based on the 4Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recreate the future. With the program, the brand's intention to maintain the topic of sustainability over time began, grounded in four pillars: economic, environmental, social, and cultural.

Completing 36 years, Rider created a new campaign to communicate its “run for sustainability”, which encourages collective creativity for a more sustainable mindset. The choice of the action location relates to the cultural strength of the space, which is close to communities that promote design and creativity. In addition, the event will kick off an original series from Rider. The Rider Original Series Project Copan invites KL Jay, Caio Braz, and Rafael Sanches to spread the stories of the makers of the future from the Copan community. The creative concept reinforces the brand’s purpose of “Recreating futures, together”, and activates its three pillars: design, fashion, and culture through the drives of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. The Rider R4 collection is available on the Rider's website.
