Spotify launches documentary about Brazilian trap

Atlanta is an American city known for globally launching some of the most successful subgenres within rap: crunk, snap, and of course, trap. The original sound, as always, comes accompanied by a style that matches and expresses the lifestyle preached in every line between the 808s and snares.

In Brazil, the genre started to be explored recently, but it already reaches significant numbers on streaming platforms, resulting in packed shows and a growing legion of fans. Despite being controversial and criticized within rap, Brazilian trap has paved the way for a new generation of talents and emerging creatives, who have seen music as a way to make a living. Raffa Moreira, Recayd Mob, Matuê, and Sidoka, among others, appear in the new Spotify documentary that portrays this new phenomenon through the eyes of journalist Amanda Cavalcanti.
