In a celebration of the timeless legacy and profound impact of the iconic model in the world of music and skateboarding, Vans announces the launch of three capsules. The Style 36 — also known as Old Skool™ — was first released in 1977 and was the second skate shoe created by the brand and the first to feature the iconic Sidestripe™. It became a striking symbol of Vans and was created by and for the pioneers of skating, transcending the boundaries of the sport — especially in underground music scenes.

Celebrating different eras and music genres, Vans launches three capsule collections. The first, called the ‘70s - ‘80s Punk Capsule and released on May 8, featured leopard print and solid colors, representing the original combinations adopted by the first punk and hardcore musicians in the 1970s and 1980s.

The second capsule, the '90s - 2000s Warped Tour Capsule, released yesterday, the 15th, is inspired by the Warped Tour — the first traveling rock tour that traveled across the United States and Canada from 1995 to 2019 — which, since the first edition, became known as the Vans Warped Tour. The silhouette of this collection stands out with the classic Checkerboard pattern, two-tone combinations, and flame prints, capturing the spirit of the 2000s.

Finally, the last capsule, the 2010s Hip Hop Capsule, arriving on May 28, showcases vibrant colors with a rubber sole, recalling the time when underground hip hop took the Old Skool in new directions.

Each of the capsules was created to honor the nonconformity and spirit of transgression that have defined the Old Skool since its inception. Additionally, the Vans Premium Old Skool Build features enhanced cushioning, improved fit, and design details drawn from the brand's archives. The model offers Sola Foam ADC insoles made with 30% biological base, ensuring comfort throughout the day. The sides feature a glossy finish, higher rubber tape, and retro branding, incorporating various elements from 1990s footwear.
