Manila Social Club offers a 24k gold covered donut

Known for its refined menu, the Manila Social Club elevated the term gourmet to another level, creating a donut covered in 24-karat gold.
Located in Williamsburg - Brooklyn, NYC - the restaurant brings typical delicacies from the Philippines and has had its dishes featured in major outlets, such as the website of The New York Times.
The Golden Cristal Ube Donut, as it is called at the establishment, includes frozen Cristal champagne, champagne jelly, a purple yam mousse filling, and 24-karat gold flakes and leaves as toppings.
The dessert is executed by the hands of the co-founder and executive chef of Manila Social Club, the Filipino Björn De La Cruz.
Attracting the interest of New Yorkers, the $100 donut has been drawing lines of people who order the dessert to savor a bit of the good life. Those with some spare change can buy a dozen of these delicacies for the symbolic price of $1000 (about R$4040.00).
