To continue the series Behind the Corre, we called upon rapper Derek Luccas, a member of Recayd Mob, to showcase a bit of his leisure and work routine.

Originally from São Paulo, Derek is only 22 years old and is already one of the greatest exponents of Brazilian trap. He is one of the founders of Recayd Mob, a group of multidisciplinary artists that includes rappers and producers. With the group, Derek has released some of his biggest hits, such as Plaqtudum and Flackjack.

His solo career began in 2014, and Derek quickly caught attention for his voice, flow, and style of rhyming. Today, his verses translate the life of a now-successful Black youth, who still has to deal with drugs, racism, and crime.

Derek's second solo album, titled ÍCONE, was developed over the course of two years, involving a meticulous curation by the artist in choosing his producers and collaborators.

A$AP ANT, Dalsin, Dfideliz, Jé Santiago, Konai, Lucas Fresno, Mc Igu, Sotam, and Sue are among the features of the album. The album includes productions by Pedro Lotto, Nagalli, Wey, Paiva, Spike, and Tibery. All tracks were mixed and mastered by Luciano Scarlecio.

Now, Derek is in the process of developing the merch for ÍCONE and an EP featuring only international artists, still with no release date. The artist shows that even right after releasing an album, the hustle doesn't stop.
