Did you already know about Nigel Xavier's work?
The 28-year-old designer, Nigel Xavier, has gained fame and is known as the "jeans wizard."
Nigel almost did not enter the fashion world; the designer was a soccer player in high school and even received scholarship offers for that, but he decided to follow his true calling and went to study at SCAD (Savannah College of Art&Design). This is how Nigel discovered his own aesthetic and improved his skills in handling garments.
I grew up with little money, so, despite being inspired by names like Yves Saint Laurent and Rick Owens, I had to find smart ways to rework the clothes in my wardrobe to make the pieces I wanted to wear (even my shoes), he says.

Nigel's style refers to the hip-hop fashion of the late 90s and early 2000s, with pieces made from upcycling scraps of other garments, mainly denim. Nigel has already made a name for himself in the music scene, including dressing rapper 2 Chainz in October 2021 and February 2022.

In a report from Farfetch, Nigel speaks about his gratitude for the capital of Peach County.
I moved to Atlanta in 2010 and spent most of my time in Summerhill. This city has opened so many doors that I would never have experienced if I didn't live here, he said.

In the second season of the Netflix reality show "Next in Fashion," the designer showcased his talent in upcycling pieces, following the challenges of each episode without losing his authenticity. Each piece presented had a bit of who Nigel Xavier is, and that led him to win the program with a prize of $200,000 and also a space to sell his pieces on the global Rent the Runway.
